Unique to Owen County is one of only a few outdoor movie theatres in the state of Indiana. “Cinema 67” is open Friday and Saturday evenings from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Come out and enjoy the time-honored tradition of “going to the drive-in.”
If horsebackriding is your forte, you’ll find various riding trails at Owen-Putnam State Forest (even a Horseman’s Campsite). Or McCormick’s Creek State Park offers guided trail rides from the Saddle Barn.
If you have a need for speed or thrive on the excitement of demolition derbies, you’ll not want to miss the opportunity to see or participate in one during the Owen County Fair or the Apple Butter Festival.
If bicycling is your preference, there are unlimited opportunities at McCormick’s Creek State Park and the Owen-Putnam State Forest offers milesupon miles of mountain bike trails.
Fish in one of the many ponds at the Owen-Putnam State Forest, or if you prefer the easier route, there’s a pay lake just north of Spencer off of Highway 231.
